About the SIP Calculator
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) lets you invest a fixed amount every month. This calculator shows how your SIP could grow with compounding, how a yearly step-up boosts it, and what it is worth in today’s money.
How to use the SIP Calculator
- Enter your monthly SIP amount.
- Set an expected yearly return and time period.
- Optionally add a yearly step-up and an inflation rate.
- Compare invested amount, estimated gains and today’s value.
Formula used
FV = P × ((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i × (1 + i), where P = monthly SIP, i = annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100 and n = months. With step-up, the monthly amount rises each year.
Frequently asked questions
Are SIP returns guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund returns depend on the market. The calculator shows an illustration at a fixed rate.
What is a step-up SIP?
A step-up SIP increases your monthly investment by a set percentage every year, usually in line with salary growth.
What return should I assume?
Use a conservative rate. Past returns of an asset class do not guarantee future returns.
