How to use the GST Calculator
- Enter the amount.
- Choose whether the amount excludes GST (add GST) or includes it (remove GST).
- Pick the GST rate or enter a custom one.
- See net price, GST amount, total and the CGST/SGST split.
Formula used
Add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100. Remove GST: net = amount × 100 ÷ (100 + rate), GST = amount − net. Within a state, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST; between states it is IGST.
Frequently asked questions
What are the GST rates in India now?
After GST 2.0 (from 22 September 2025) the main slabs are 5%, 18% and 40%, with some items at nil and special rates.
What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?
For sales within a state, GST is split equally between the Centre (CGST) and the state (SGST). For sales between states, IGST is charged.
How do I calculate GST from a total price?
Divide the total by (100 + rate) and multiply by 100 to get the price before GST; the difference is the GST.
