About the Discount Calculator
Sale offers like “50% + extra 10% off” can be confusing. Enter the original price and discounts to see the final price, your savings and the true combined discount.
How to use the Discount Calculator
- Enter the original price (MRP).
- Enter the discount percentage.
- Add an extra discount if there is one.
- See the final price, savings and effective discount.
Formula used
Final price = price × (1 − d1 ÷ 100) × (1 − d2 ÷ 100). Effective discount = (price − final) ÷ price × 100.
Frequently asked questions
Is 50% + 10% the same as 60% off?
No. The extra 10% applies to the already reduced price, so the total discount is 55%, not 60%.
How do I calculate discount percentage?
Subtract the sale price from the original price, divide by the original price and multiply by 100.
Is GST included in MRP?
In India, MRP includes all taxes, so the discounted price normally includes GST.
